They joined before 01.01.1995 and may not be dismissed on the basis of the provisions of the AVB. In the sense used here, the term is also understood to include the former postal workers at the Postbus. This category of employees will shrink over the next few years due to an impending wave of retirements. The division with the highest personnel intensity as at 31.12.2023 was the ÖBB-Infrastruktur subgroup. This group accounted for 41% of all employees, including apprentices. Strategic direction Strategic HR Management, together with the HR management of all ÖBB Group companies, sees itself as a strategic sparring partner for managers and supporters in the design and implementation of the corporate strategy. HR is also the point of contact for employees during their employee journey in our company. HR’s work ensures that the right employees are available in the ÖBB Group at the right time, in the right place and with the right qualifications. Strategic HR Management, together with all sub-companies, therefore makes a significant contribution to the internal and external perception of the ÖBB Group, both among employees and potential applicants. Our task and goal is to position ourselves as an attractive employer that lives and promotes diversity. HR is preparing for future challenges along the four strategic thrusts of “Efficient and modern HR management”, “Learning and development”, “Culture and diversity” and “Strong employer brand”. It is developing the ÖBB Group into a top employer and a benchmark for future-orientated HR.
