Measure Punctuality Punctuality is an essential quality criterion for customer satisfaction. Punctuality is monitored within the ÖBB-Infrastruktur Group and the ÖBB Group as part of the regular Punctuality Steering Group. The ÖBB-Infrastruktur Group focuses on the continual optimisation of asset availability, timely reinvestment in assets to avoid slow speed sections, the promotion of alternative timetables during construction work and operational excellence in dispatching. ongoing Raising awareness of dangers at railway facilities The aim is to improve safety on railway premises by raising awareness. At the start of each school year, a safety campaign is launched to promote appropriate behaviour in the vicinity of railway facilities. This directly involves one of the most important and potentially most vulnerable stakeholder groups. In addition, safety talks are held in schools across Austria to raise awareness of the dangers associated with railway facilities. Particular attention is devoted each year around the “International Level Crossing Awareness Day” at the beginning of June to raising awareness of appropriate behaviour at railway crossings. ongoing Safety programme Safety is the top priority in all activities within the ÖBB-Infrastruktur Group. The safety programme is based on findings from incidents, accident investigation reports, internal reviews (safety checks, audits, etc.) and the INFRA Trend Monitoring system. The following key areas are relevant to consumers and end users: – Prevention of accidents at level crossings through the closure of level crossings, the construction of overpasses or underpasses at level crossings, and the upgrading of level crossings with safety barriers – Reducing the risk of derailment by installing train movement checkpoints – Reducing the risk of collisions through the installation of track-clearance detection systems, the retrofitting of PZB – Indusimagnete systems, and the expansion of the ETCS system ongoing Park & Ride The intelligent linking of transport modes is essential for a sustainable and efficient transport system. Park-and-ride facilities act as the interface between private motorised transport and the rail network. This will, therefore, provide easy access to rail services, particularly for people living in areas with poor or no public transport links. Implementation will take place in collaboration with the P&R contract partners (state and local authorities). Access systems and other measures designed to ensure that Park & Ride facilities are actually available to public transport users help to ensure efficient, targeted use. As part of the planning of extensions/new construction of P&R facilities, efforts are also made together with the contractual partners – namely the federal state and municipality – to improve the connectivity of the transport station (public transport, cycling infrastructure), in order to strengthen climate-friendly alternatives to travelling by private car. ongoing Bike & Ride The construction and expansion of Bike & Ride facilities is intended to facilitate access to rail transport. Bicycles are an important part of the mobility chain, and offering Bike & Ride facilities at transport stations in the ÖBB-Infrastruktur Group’s network makes a significant contribution to sustainable mobility. In partnership with the regions and local authorities, work is underway to expand the provision of bicycle parking spaces in a swift and needs- based manner. By providing covered parking spaces and developing parking facilities with enhanced security (e.g. secure bicycle storage units), a high-quality service is being created that is tailored to the needs of various target groups. ongoing Sharing services for the first and last mile Car-sharing, bike-sharing and e-scooter-sharing, as well as on-demand bus services, offer rail passengers a flexible solution for the first and last mile. ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG supports the establishment of such facilities by providing designated areas in a way that is tailored to demand and free from discrimination. ongoing
