The advantages of this include concentrating the control of existing signal boxes in a few data centres, reducing the number of external installations such as technical buildings and cabling, standardising the technology for main and regional lines, and redu­ cing maintenance costs. //// ETCS The European Train Control System (ETCS) is the navigation system for trains and an example of how digitDOisation and automation can make rail transport more efficient and effective. Its purpose is to facilitate interoperable, efficient and crossborder rail transport. ETCS regulates the distance between trains and the speed at which they travel. It allows that intervals between trains can be reduced and fixed lineside light signals are no longer necessary for train movements. ///// DIGITAL TWIN We aim to increase capacity and pro­ ductivity, reduce costs and ensure even greater safety, reliability and availability by modelling and inte­ grating digital twins of the infra­ structure. We are transposing the railway infrastructure with track and route networks, facilities and data into the virtual world. This enables us to simulate a wide range of sce­ narios for shorter intervals between trains and more services, optimised timetables and efficient maintenance. OUR SERVICE.
